WSP USA seeks an Environmental Engineer to join the Earth & Environment Team in Shelton, CT. You will support projects involving site remediation, investigations, due diligence, and permitting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemical, Civil, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and environmental sampling.
  • Knowledge of federal/state/local EHS regulations and permitting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; capable of coordinating with regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient with technical writing and analytical software.
  • Willingness to travel as project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for environmental projects including investigation, remediation, due diligence, and permitting.
  • Perform Phase I ESAs, site investigations, and remediation field work.
  • Design subsurface investigations including drilling oversight and sampling.
  • Collect and evaluate environmental data from air, soil, groundwater, and water.
  • Research environmental databases to assess historical property uses and risks.
  • Develop remedial action work plans and cost estimates.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, figures, and charts for client reviews.
  • Contribute to technical reports and field investigation reports.
  • Maintain quality control per industry standards.
  • Support proposals and client communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist HASP planning.
