Job summary

Applied Environmental is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist to support multimedia environmental compliance programs at a federal facility in Arlington, Virginia. This full-time, onsite role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field and 5+ years of experience; candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.

Qualifications

• The candidate will support multimedia environmental compliance programs at a federal facility.
• Strong experience in permitting, regulatory reporting, field investigations and agency coordination is required.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and build audit-ready compliance systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead air permitting efforts (Title V, NSR, NESHAP), stormwater, DMRs, and hazardous waste management.
• Coordinate with facility staff and regulators to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Develop technical briefings, reports, memos, and update databases; support audits and inspections.
• Collect, analyze, and report data to maintain regulatory compliance across programs.
• Review plans and submittals for environmental compliance and support ongoing projects.
