Job summary

General Motors Corporation is seeking an Environmental Engineer onsite in Kansas City, KS. You will champion air, waste and water compliance, develop programs to reduce environmental risk, and work with diverse teams to implement sustainable solutions across the site.

The role focuses on regulatory compliance, environmental management systems, and driving improvements in a manufacturing setting aligned with GM’s Vision of Zero.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related science.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in environmental engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of air permitting, stormwater permitting, hazardous waste generator requirements, and other environmental media.

Responsibilities

• Drive consistent environmental stewardship programs at an assembly plant.
• Engage with local regulatory agencies and prepare required reports.
• Develop and maintain environmental management systems using technology.
• Monitor environmental parameters and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
