Job Summary

Langan seeks an Environmental Engineer or Scientist to join our collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ or New York City. The role involves site exploration activities such as contaminated site investigation and remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion investigation, remedial work, pilot testing, data management, and report preparation. You will work with industry leaders on diverse environmental projects in a continuous learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and environmental investigations;
• Conduct air, soil, gas, groundwater sampling, and remediation of contaminated sites;
• Assist in planning and executing field investigations, logging borings, collecting samples, performing tests, and recording data;
• Oversee remediation activities and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications;
• Identify and solve field and laboratory problems, documenting results and communicating issues to supervisors;
• Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, plans, and environmental assessments;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science;
• Minimum GPA of 3.0;
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; internships preferred;
• For engineering degrees, EIT certification or current FE exam registration is preferred;
• Strong technical background, professional demeanor, and eagerness to learn;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, multitasking, and sound judgment;
• Ability to work independently and in teams;
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site access in NJ and NYC;
• Availability for overtime as needed.
