Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an entry to mid-level engineer for employment to be a task leader for a variety of PFAS remediation investigation and environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have a BA/BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with a successful work history of 4 years within environmental investigation and remediation projects.

The ideal candidate will have had experience with response and environmental investigations and through site clean-up and closure. Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

•Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design

elements for engineering works.
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Geology, and environmental science AND 4+ years of experience within the consulting industry, demonstrating technical leadership in conducting remedial investigations and design or the demonstrated equivalence of education and experience.
  • US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
  • Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations
  • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PHD in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
  • Experienced with environmental science principles, including PFAS site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.
  • Possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
  • Experience using ArcGIS and generating maps and report figures
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
  • Knowledgeable and experience working on State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulation
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.
  • Field work will be required, including oversight of subcontractors.
  • Able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $100,000.00.
