Job summary

Domtar is seeking an Environmental Engineer for the Ashdown Mill in Arkansas. The role is full-time and focuses on compliance and sustainability within the environmental department.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering, 2–5 years of experience in an industrial setting, and strong knowledge of environmental regulations. On-site work with occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Experience with environmental monitoring equipment and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Manage routine sampling, monitoring, and analysis of air, water, and waste streams.
• Track and report environmental performance metrics (e.g., emissions, effluent, waste generation).
• Prepare and submit required environmental reports and permits.
• Maintain and update environmental management systems and documentation.
• Investigate and respond to environmental incidents.
• Review capital improvement projects for permit and regulatory impacts.
• Conduct environmental training for employees and contractors.
