Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company seeks an Environmental Engineer to run the plant environmental program in compliance with federal and state laws. You will coordinate safety, environmental projects, and regulator interactions while ensuring permits are up to date and reports are accurate.

You will work with the Environmental Manager and others to implement policies, conduct audits, and support training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years in environmental field within cement/mining or related industry.
• Ability to work with regulatory agencies and understand environmental permits.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
• Ability to organize, prioritize work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Participate in environmental projects and liaise with regulatory agencies and inspectors.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist regulatory agencies by providing information and support.
• Prepare and renew environmental reports, questionnaires and surveys.
• Audit data acquisition systems and implement necessary changes.
• Coordinate ISO 14001 certification activities with management.
• Coordinate training with Environmental Manager and Corporate Environmental Manager.
• Manage training contracts and training media cost-effectively.
• Handle additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
