Job summary

We are looking for an Environmental Engineer to join the Environmental Air Team supporting INVISTA's Nylon Intermediates manufacturing facility in Victoria, Texas. In this role, you will partner closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and environmental professionals to ensure compliance, improve environmental systems, and develop innovative solutions that create long-term value for the site.

This position offers the opportunity to influence environmental strategy, lead compliance improvement initiatives, and support one of INVISTA's large-scale manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance and regulatory compliance.

Our Team

This role reports to the Environmental Leader (Air Team) and is part of a team responsible for supporting environmental compliance across the Victoria site. The team works collaboratively with site operations and technical resources to develop sustainable environmental programs, improve compliance systems, and manage evolving regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do

• Partner with operations and site teams to strengthen environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Lead and manage compliance activities associated with federal and state air regulations, including programs such as Title V, HON, MON, BWON, and related requirements.
• Oversee environmental compliance activities associated with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), working closely with instrumentation and analyzer teams to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Serve as a technical environmental resource by communicating regulatory requirements, supporting environmental event response activities, and helping resolve compliance constraints.
• Develop, improve, and sustain environmental programs, tools, and processes to support long-term compliance and operational excellence.
• Drive improvements in environmental data management, reporting processes, and compliance systems while reducing complexity and redundancy.
• Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of environmental management systems and regulatory compliance processes.
• Develop and deliver training that promotes understanding and ownership of environmental requirements across the site.
• Conduct audits, self-assessments, inspections, and field reviews to verify compliance and strengthen environmental performance.
• Manage contractors and consultants supporting environmental compliance initiatives and program activities.

Physical Considerations

• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders when accessing operating units.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
• Must be willing to support operational needs outside of traditional working hours, including participation in an on-call rotation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or another technical field.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance programs, environmental operations, or related manufacturing processes.
• Experience with air permitting, regulatory compliance, emissions monitoring, or environmental reporting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing, implementing, or improving environmental compliance processes and systems.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting submissions to regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical requirements and collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and environmental teams.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience leading or managing air compliance programs in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Title V permitting and compliance programs.
• Experience managing or supporting Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
• Experience with environmental management software such as StackVision, Cority, or similar systems.
• Experience performing environmental calculations, emissions analyses, or regulatory evaluations.
• Familiarity with Power BI, PI, or other data historian platforms.
• Multi-media environmental experience including air, water, waste, and UIC programs.
• Experience conducting environmental audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Experience implementing environmental management controls such as permits, plans, registrations, and compliance calendars.
