Job summary

INVISTA in Victoria, Texas is seeking Instrument & Electrical Technicians to expand instrumentation, electrical, and analyzer expertise while joining an experienced team dedicated to safe, reliable operations.

You will inspect, test, repair, and calibrate equipment, work with transmitters, control valves, RTDs, thermocouples and low‑voltage systems, and support condition‑based monitoring and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Electrical, Electrical or Analyzer experience in an industrial setting.
• Associate’s degree or higher in I&E with hands‑on experience.
• Journeyman Electrician license or NCCER certification with field experience.

Responsibilities

INVISTA is seeking Instrument & Electrical Technicians with instrumentation, electrical, or analyzer experience who are interested in expanding their technical capability across disciplines. In this role, you will apply your existing strengths while learning from an experienced team to support safe, reliable, and competitive operations at our Victoria, Texas facility.

The INVISTA I&E team works closely with our Operations partners to prioritize the highest-value work and strengthen our Team-Based Maintenance (TBM) approach. Our technicians bring varied instrumentation and electrical experience, collaborate with mutual respect, and share practical and technical knowledge. Whether your primary strength is instrumentation, electrical systems, or analyzers, you will have opportunities to contribute your expertise and build capability across disciplines.

What You Will Do

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and electrical equipment that supports safe and reliable facility operations.
• Work with field instrumentation and analyzer equipment, including transmitters, control valves, I/P converters, positioners, actuators, flow meters, instrument tubing, conductivity analyzers, RTDs, and thermocouples.
• Support low-voltage electrical equipment, primarily 480-volt systems with work up to 4,160 volts, including motors, starters, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, relays, fuses, AC drives, and electrical cabling.
• Perform preventive maintenance and use condition-based monitoring practices to identify equipment needs before failures occur.
• Learn and use Honeywell Field Device Manager (FDM), the site’s primary condition-based monitoring tool, to assess field-device performance and identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including labor hours, work performed, and critical preventive-maintenance findings.
• Support the continuous improvement and implementation of Team-Based Maintenance strategies and understand how your work contributes to INVISTA’s operational performance and market competitiveness.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least one of the following requirements:
• 4+ years of Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Electrical, Electrical or Analyzer experience in a manufacturing, industrial or agriculture facility.
• Associate’s degree or Higher in a related I&E field with a minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing, industrial or agriculture facility.
• Current Journeyman Electrician license, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing, industrial or agriculture facility.
• NCCER certification or equivalent in one of the following areas, with a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing, industrial or agriculture facility:
• Industrial Maintenance Electrical & Instrumentation
• Instrumentation
• Ability to read and use electrical prints, loop sheets, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

Physical Requirements

• Must be available to work regular 4/10 schedule (Planned) or unscheduled hours (unplanned/short-notice hours on nights and/or weekends, holidays as needed), to meet business needs.
• Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, ACR Flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of 80 feet.

• Experience troubleshooting equipment issues and facilitating RCA, Cause Mapping, and Failure Mode Cause Analysis.
• GE Mark VIe Gas Turbine Control system for Cogeneration Unit
