Job summary

Davis & Floyd is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer to join our team in Greenville or Greenwood, SC. You will work on environmental and civil engineering services for a diverse client base, collaborating within a family-owned firm known for integrity and quality.

The role emphasizes project management, client communication, and regulatory compliance across wastewater, air, stormwater, NEPA, and due diligence projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in environmental projects or related fields.
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and program implementation.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations.
• Ability to manage staff and communicate with clients clearly.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS.
• Strong project management skills and client development experience.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and work on specialized environmental projects, environmental compliance and monitoring programs, and regulatory approval compliance for public, industrial, and commercial facilities.
• Interact with local and state environmental agencies, communicate with clients, and develop internal and external marketing strategies to assist in department growth.
• Perform business development, sales, and client management.
• Correspond with clients and regulatory agencies by phone, writing, and in person to communicate and establish expectations.
• Write proposals and bids.
• Oversee the work of staff engineers and technical subordinates.
• Industrial Wastewater Treatment design, permitting, and compliance.
• Air Permitting (Title V – minor), modeling and compliance with air quality regulations.
• Industrial Stormwater and SPCC Plans, implementation planning and training.
• Prepare environmental compliance audits, reports and plans.
• Help clients comply with federal, state, air, water, and waste regulations.
• Coordinate NEPA studies and oversee a team of planners for these documents.
• Due Diligence (Phase I/Phase II ESA’s/Voluntary Cleanup Contracts).
• Noise Studies, modeling, and mitigation plans.
• Asbestos and lead-based-paint surveys, abatement, and demolition planning.

This candidate will become part of a team that provides environmental and civil engineering services to a wide variety of clients. • Coordinate and work on specialized environmental projects, environmental compliance and monitoring programs, and regulatory approval compliance for public, industrial, and commercial facilities

Requirements
