Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering preferred.
• 2+ years environmental compliance experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of air and water regulations including NSPS, PSD/NSR, NESHAP and Title V.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Manage environmental projects and compliance activities across the plant and terminals.
• Conduct site inspections and audits, recommend corrective actions and ensure follow-through.
• Support preparation of environmental permit applications and regulatory reporting.
• Facilitate regulatory agency inspections and demonstrate compliance to leadership.
• Analyze environmental performance data and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Track schedules, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
• Deliver environmental training to plant employees.
• Identify environmental issues requiring capital investment and support funding requests.

Education

About the Role

The Environmental Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, environmental performance, and operational sustainability across a major industrial production site. You’ll manage air and water compliance programs, lead inspections and audits, support permitting activities, and partner closely with plant leadership to proactively identify risks and implement effective solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands‑on experience in environmental compliance within manufacturing or heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations

• Conduct site inspections and audits, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow‑through
• Gather technical data and support preparation of environmental permit applications
• Facilitate regulatory agency inspections and demonstrate compliance to plant leadership
• Analyze environmental performance data and communicate results to stakeholders
• Track compliance schedules, deadlines, and reporting requirements
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies
• Support sampling, testing, and monitoring of regulated pollutants
• Evaluate new and proposed regulations to determine operational impact
• Identify environmental issues requiring capital investment and support funding requests
• Deliver environmental training to plant employees
• Develop action plans to reduce environmental impacts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering preferred
• 2+ years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong knowledge of air and water regulations, including NSPS, PSD/NSR, NESHAP, and Title V preferred
• Familiarity with state‑level environmental regulations a plus
• Experience in cement, lime, or other heavy industrial source categories preferred

• Ability to analyze environmental performance data and identify trends
• Strong documentation, organization, and analytical skills
