Job summary

A conservation organization is seeking Environmental Education Interns to engage diverse audiences through hands-on learning experiences focused on environmental themes. This full-time internship lasts approximately 22-23 weeks, providing a $400/month stipend and mandatory on-site housing. Interns will lead educational programs, provide excellent customer service, and assist with overall facility maintenance. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license. Experience with children and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Fossil Rim insurance requirements.
• International applicants must have a J1 or B1 visa prior to arrival.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and present education programs and special events.
• Lead engaging and interpretive tours of Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.
• Facilitate guest exploration through activity stations and educational programming.

Skills

Experience working with children

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Ability to work atypical schedule including nights and weekends

Education

Undergraduate degree in biology, environmental science, education, or related discipline
