Qualifications

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Economist who will be responsible for developing economic strategies and assessing the costs and benefits of environmental policies, regulations, and resource use decisions, based on quantitative models and comparative analysis.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Collecting and analyzing data comparing policy alternatives’ environmental
  • impacts.
  • Developing economic models to forecast ecological/economic outcomes.
  • Monitoring market and environmental trends to inform investment decisions.
  • Planning energy-economics research with budgets/timelines for decision making in deployment planning long term project viability.
  • Recommending sustainable, resource-efficient practices supporting environmental performance, economic efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
What You Bring:
  • U.S. Master’s degree in Environmental Economics or Environmental Management; and
  • 24 months of experience developing financial models for renewable energy projects, including: conducting feasibility studies using energy resource assessment, revenue forecasting, and evaluation of grid interconnection options; conducting project due diligence and appraisal for renewable energy systems by applying environmental economic analysis to assess costs and risks of regulatory compliance and to support investment and acquisition decisions, including preparation of grant proposals with financial analysis; monitoring environmental policy, electricity market conditions, and regulatory trends; and contributing to climate change mitigation/adaptation, energy access, or sustainable infrastructure projects.

Compensation:
  • Salary Range: $71,635-$86,653 USD
  • Bonus: 20% of annual salary
