Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Department Manager in the United States to lead and grow the environmental practice. You will oversee project managers, engineers, and staff, ensuring safety, quality, and financial performance while aligning with company standards and strategic objectives.

You will shape department structure, recruit and develop leaders, and drive business development with key clients, coordinating with senior leadership to meet growth targets and service

Qualifications

• 6 years of related experience with or without a degree
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Advanced understanding of engineering consulting operations and project execution
• Strong financial acumen (P&L, budgeting, forecasting, KPIs)
• Ability to manage multiple teams, priorities, and deadlines
• Proficiency in construction materials testing principles and regional conditions

Responsibilities

• Directly leads engineers, Project Managers, technicians, and support staff
• Owns performance management, coaching, career development, and succession planning
• Builds and maintains an effective department structure aligned with workload and growth
• Leads recruiting, hiring, and retention strategies
• Oversees project execution, safety, quality, schedule, and budget
• Drives client relationship management and department growth strategy
• Manages department P&L, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
• Ensures compliance with company procedures and risk controls
