Nucor Corporation's Insulated Panel Group (NIPG) in Lewisville, TX is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to lead permitting, audits and environmental compliance programs across multiple U.S. locations. The role focuses on maintaining air, water and waste compliance, training, and community outreach.

You will work with federal, state and local agencies, manage EMS documentation, and report on environmental metrics while supporting safety initiatives and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two years of environmental compliance experience.
• Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing and able to travel in the US and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental leadership across multiple locations with a focus on safety and environmental stewardship.
• Assist division locations in maintaining compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, tank management, emergency plans, EMS, and risk management.
• Work in a team setting or independently on environmental projects.
• Interact with federal, state, and local agencies on permitting, compliance, and inspections.
• Submit reports such as Air Emissions Inventory and TRI to agencies.
• Represent NIPG at meetings, trainings, and plant audits.
• Track division metrics related to corporate requirements.

With 8 locations throughout the United States and 1 location in Canada. This role would be supporting the NIPG locations in Lewisville, Texas, Laurens, South Carolina, and Prince George, Virginia.

The Environmental Coordinator at Nucor Insulated Panel Group provide leadership in all environmental matters including permitting, maintenance, recording keeping, and auditing of environmental compliance programs. Additional duties include taking a lead role in plant-wide environmental project management, training, and community outreach.

Basic Job Functions

• Leadership role in promoting Nucor’s mission ensuring that safety is instilled as a value with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.
• Assist multiple locations in the division in maintaining compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, tank management, emergency plans, Risk Management Plan, and environmental management system (EMS).
• Ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects.
• Interact with various Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies on permitting, compliance, and facility inspections.
• Submit required environmental reports to agencies including but not limited to: Air Emissions Inventory, Annual Waste Summary, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), discharge monitoring reports (DMRs).
• Represent NIPG at Corporate and NIPG's EHS meetings, training sessions, and plant audits.
• Track and submit division metrics as related to corporate requirements/President’s Environmental award statistics.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two years of environmental compliance experience
• Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing and able to travel in the US and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4-year degree in environmental, health, safety or related technical field.
• Solid understanding of environmental permitting and serve as a liaison for State and Federal environmental agencies
• 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing field
• Ability and desire to promote into a senior level environmental role at other Nucor divisions.
