Nucor is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor to lead a team of environmental professionals and operators, advancing safety and regulatory compliance across plant operations.

The role emphasizes developing personnel, coordinating with multiple departments, and implementing robust environmental/safety programs, with a focus on maintaining top-tier safety culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a leadership or environmental technical role.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering or related degree or equivalent years of applicable experience.
• Experience in environmental permitting and compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred).
• Experience with air pollution control and water treatment operations, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of environmental operators and EHS professionals.
• Build relationships across departments to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of environmental systems.
• Lead safety initiatives and implement environmental and safety programs.

Basic Job Functions:

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor is responsible for safely leading and developing a team of environmental operators and environmental, health, & safety professionals, while working towards helping achieve Nucor’s goal of becoming the world's safest steel company. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to growing and developing the team; working with and building relationships across departments to ensure a mutual understanding and execution of safety and environmental compliance requirements; maintenance and operations of environmental systems; leading safety initiatives; implementation and operation of environmental and safety programs in addition to EHS department activities and other duties as assigned.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three years of experience in a leadership or environmental technical role


• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering or related degree or equivalent years of applicable experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in environmental permitting and compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment


• Experience with air pollution control and water treatment operations, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting


• Experience leading technicians, operational teams, or cross-functional groups


• Experience supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades, or process improvements


• Experience in OSHA compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment


• Experience with implementation and maintenance of a radiation safety & ISO 14001 program
