Job summary

Anomatic Corporation is seeking an Environmental Control Operator to ensure that nickel, NOx scrubbers, TSS and neutralization systems operate and are maintained at peak performance. You will monitor wastewater and air scrubbing equipment, manage chemicals, and maintain accurate logs.

The role requires working in a chemical environment, completing safety training, and being capable of operating in a fast-paced industrial setting. Overtime may be required on short notice or weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must satisfactorily complete Chemical Safe Handling and Operations Training within first 6 months of employment.
• Capable of working in a chemical environment.
• Current HAZWOPER training, or ability to become certified within 6 months of hire.
• Current Forklift training or ability to become certified within 30 days of hire.
• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Able to wear a respirator (no facial hair which would interfere with fit).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate waste water and air scrubbing systems.
• Add chemicals as needed.
• Watch for proper nickel flocculation and precipitation.
• Check for proper pH ranges.
• Check NOX scrubber circulation tank.
• Label stored chemicals according to OSHA regulations.
• Clean and store empty containers.
• Maintain chemical inventory reports.
• Participate in Emergency Response System.
• Store wastes properly.
• Take readings and log information on chiller, boiler and air compressor as necessary.
• Keep waste treatment area neat and clean.
• Any other duties as assigned.
