Job summary

NEXPERA is seeking a Chemical Operator in New Jersey to monitor and operate equipment and facilities, ensuring quality and adherence to SOPs. The role emphasizes safety, emergency response, and maintenance activities across control rooms, labs, and on-site areas.

The operator will perform laboratory analyses, loading/unloading tasks, and participate in shift work including nights and weekends, with emphasis on environmental protection and procedure compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Suite; adaptable to new software.
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down plant systems including emergency operations.
• Operate, monitor and control plant systems; inspect equipment and processes.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance including lockout/tagout.
• Follow procedures and safety rules; revise them if qualified.
• Troubleshoot equipment to restore normal operation.
• Analyze charts/logs to identify issues and stabilize operations.
• Train new operators on safety and environmental practices.
• Perform loading/unloading of railcars, tanks and totes.
• Conduct laboratory analyses of products.
• Handle clerical and shipping duties as required.
• Operate mobile equipment like forklifts and trackmobiles.
• Recognize high hazard conditions and act to protect people and environment.
