Job summary

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an environmental compliance technician to join our Hampton Roads team in Virginia. The role focuses on land development environmental compliance services for residential, commercial, utility and transportation projects.

Responsibilities include site inspections, SWPPP development/auditing, agency coordination, and BMP monitoring. Travel regionally is expected; 1–2 years experience and DEQ certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of environmental compliance task experience (NPDES/VMRC/NWP).
• Virginia DEQ SWM/ESC Inspector certifications required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with limited supervision.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Experience with diverse client bases in public and private sectors.
• Willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Environmental compliance inspections and reporting.
• SWPPP development and auditing.
• Coordinate with federal and state agencies on wetlands, erosion/sediment control, and stormwater compliance.
• BMP construction monitoring.
