Sacramento County is seeking an Environmental Compliance Technician to support professional environmental staff involved in monitoring environmental regulations, protecting public health and safety, and controlling hazards in Sacramento, CA. The role includes field sampling, data recording, and preparing summaries and charts to support regulatory mandates.

Two levels are offered with monthly salaries from $4,936.38 to $6,688.56, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Read English at a level necessary to examine, interpret, and apply legal, technical, and complex environmental guidelines, documents, records, and reports.
• Speak English at a level necessary to communicate clearly with the public and business owners.
• Write English at a level necessary to produce concise, accurate, and impartial reports, narratives, summaries, and recommendations.
• Completion of 12 semester units from an accredited college or university in physical science, life science, engineering or a closely related field.

Responsabilités

• Provide information verbally, non-verbally, and in writing using appropriate language, organization, and format for the audience.
• Collect, review, interpret, apply, summarize and explain environmental data, rules, regulations, codes, laws and ordinances.
• Work independently, prioritize work, coordinate activities, and meet deadlines; handle multiple tasks and resources.
