Job summary

Serco is seeking an Environmental Specialist Mid HI to support the 647 CES at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), Hawaii. You will manage environmental compliance, coordinate with regulators, and lead the transfer of records from Navy systems into Air Force repositories to ensure accurate, accessible documentation for audits and decision-making.

The role emphasizes environmental program management, field assessments, and collaboration with mission partners to support installation projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related field.
• At least three years of experience supporting military facilities or infrastructure.
• At least five years of environmental program management experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 background investigation and Common Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to comply with Air Force environmental, safety, operations security, cybersecurity, NIPRNet, and records management requirements.
• Ability to conduct environmental inspections, assessments, sampling, and fieldwork.
• Strong writing, data analysis, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day environmental compliance and conservation activities.
• Prepare technical environmental program documentation and support compliance reviews.
• Provide environmental planning input for facility, utility, and infrastructure projects.
• Lead transfer, validation, organization, and upload of environmental documentation from Navy systems into Air Force repositories (NexGen IT and SharePoint).
• Coordinate with regulators, host and tenant organizations, mission partners, and community groups.
• Conduct fieldwork involving water, soil, asbestos, lead‑based paint, wildlife, and environmental hazard assessments.
