Job summary

Perdue Foods is seeking an Environmental Manager I to oversee environmental programs at a processing site, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving sustainability efforts across air, water, waste, and reporting. You will partner with cross-functional teams to maintain operational excellence while championing waste reduction and resource conservation.

Responsibilities include leading safety and regulatory programs, managing staff, and delivering timely environmental reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Biological Science.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in environmental and sustainability programs.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Must possess a wastewater license.
• Travel to remote facilities may be required.
• Strong reading, math, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with wastewater, air quality, and waste programs.
• Oversee and develop environmental programs and reporting.
• Supervise general associates including training and development.
• Provide timely reports to internal and external customers.
• Lead public education and community relations efforts pertaining to environmental programs.
• Order parts, supplies, chemicals, and monitor all environmental activities.
• Control costs and assets within established goals.
• Report to Director of Environmental Operations and coordinate with Facility Managers.
• Notify of spills and non-compliances in a timely manner.
• May conduct environmental audits of other facilities.
