Job summary

WM seeks a Landfill Operations Supervisor I/Environmental Compliance Supervisor to lead daily landfill operations, supervising staff, contractors, and consultants. Focus areas include safety, quality control, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

I. Job Summary: Landfill Operations Supervisor I/Environmental Compliance Supervisor

Supervises daily landfill operations and landfill staff, contractors, and consultants.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises landfill staff, contractors, and consultants and reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
• Coordinates workflow and assignments toward the achievement of operational goals.
• Supervises and monitors daily landfill operations, and reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Coordinates repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
• Collects weekly and/or monthly readings. Creates and submits records and reports.
• Oversees personnel needs of the landfill including coaching, training, and evaluating performance.

III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited).
• 1 year to three (3) years of previous relevant experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or equivalent technical degree and one (1) three (3) years of landfill O&M, Landfill construction or equivalent environmental field experiences are preferred.
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA and/or automation/control systems, equipment operating, health, safety and environmental regulations knowledge, and supervisory experience is beneficial.

Field: This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.

Pay: The expected salary range for this on-site position is $68,000 - $75,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
