Job summary

San Diego International Airport is seeking an Associate Environmental Specialist within the Planning, Noise, & Environment Department. You will ensure storm water compliance across construction projects, review designs, attend meetings, and perform inspections to ensure real-time adherence to environmental standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of CA permits and active collaboration with contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (CA Construction General Permit, MS4 permit, California Industrial General Permit).
• Experience reviewing plans, conducting inspections, and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to build cross‑functional relationships and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans for capital, tenant improvement, and major maintenance projects.
• Attend pre-design and pre-construction meetings and monitor construction for environmental compliance.
• Perform field inspections and review stormwater data and lab reports.
