Job summary

Chemours seeks an Environmental Specialist to join the Discovery Hub in Newark, DE. You will help develop and improve environmental compliance programs, manage data for regulatory reports, and coordinate audits and investigations to ensure ongoing compliance and performance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in environmental roles, with knowledge of RCMS/RC14001/ISO 14001 and air/wastewater permitting. Strong collaboration with R&D, operations, and leadership is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific field (Chemical/Environmental).
  • 3–5 years environmental experience in R&D, lab, or manufacturing settings.
  • Working knowledge of air compliance programs and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems (RCMS, RC14001, ISO 14001).
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste characterization and storage requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support environmental compliance systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare, review, and submit data for regulatory and corporate reports (EPCRA, Air Emissions, wastewater, etc.).
  • Conduct environmental applicability determinations and compliance assessments for operations and changes.
  • Lead and support environmental audits, inspections, and incident investigations; ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain environmental procedures, documentation, and training materials.
  • Monitor and communicate environmental performance metrics for decision-making.
  • Build relationships with regulatory agencies and stay current on changes.
