Job summary

A leading engineering and technology firm is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist for their Richmond, VA office. The role involves providing environmental compliance services related to construction of data centers and other projects. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, developing stormwater plans, and coordinating with resource agencies. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in a relevant field, be able to manage multiple projects, and possess excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include relevant experience and DEQ certifications.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience performing Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater compliance inspections preferred.
• Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance inspections and reporting.
• Develop and audit Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
• Coordinate with state resource agencies on compliance matters.
• Monitor construction for Best Management Practices (BMP).
• Conduct Virginia Water Protection (VWP) monitoring.
