Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking an Environmental Programs Manager to lead the company’s environmental programs and regulatory compliance across a national portfolio. The role acts as the SME and primary contact for senior leadership and external agencies.

Responsibilities include developing policies, leading Phase I/II assessments, managing investigations and remediation, and coordinating with vendors. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with 8–12 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of progressive experience in environmental compliance or environmental programs management supporting multi-site operations.
• In-house corporate experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Strong project and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as enterprise lead for environmental programs, compliance initiatives, and risk management across a national portfolio.
• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies and standards.
• Lead due diligence activities related to real estate (Phase I/II) assessments.
• Manage site investigations, remediation projects, and regulatory coordination.
• Oversee storage tank upgrades, permitting, inspections, and reporting.
