Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior environmental leader to drive compliance and permitting across Michigan operations, oversee environmental reporting, and coordinate with operations, engineering, agencies, and consultants.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science or Engineering, 5+ years in heavy industry or mining, and strong knowledge of environmental regulations including Part 301 and wetlands permitting. Excellent communication and project‑management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of environmental experience in heavy industry, mining, or similar operations.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
• Experience with Michigan wetlands permitting (Part 303), wetland delineation, or mitigation banking is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance and permitting efforts across operations in Michigan
• Serve as the primary internal resource for Michigan Water Resources Permits (Part 301)
• Support environmental programs related to air, land, and water compliance
• Partner with operations, engineering, regulatory agencies, and consultants
• Ensure compliance
• Manage environmental reporting
• Oversee permitting activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
