Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. in Maryland is seeking an Environmental Manager to ensure permit compliance, operate pollution control systems, and improve environmental performance.

You will supervise operators, develop SOPs for plant environmental and utility systems, and manage data analysis, permit submissions, and regulatory reporting. Night/weekend/hours flexibility required to align with plant production needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Wastewater Operator Certification (GA) or ability to obtain.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of environmental systems, equipment, and operating procedures.
• Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff and ensure safety policies compliance at the location.
• Supervise operators in safe boiler, wastewater, and air treatment operations.
• Develop SOPs for plant environmental and utility systems.
• Develop, assign, and implement CIP schedules for scrubbers and equipment.
• Collect and analyze daily environmental data for performance recommendations.
• Prepare state and federal environmental permit submittals.
