Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager to oversee day-to-day regulatory functions at operating facilities. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws, managing permits, preparing plans, and coordinating audits and inspections with regulators and contractors.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, strong knowledge of EPA regulations, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• BS/BA is required.
• 2+ years environmental compliance experience is required.
• Knowledge of EPA laws/regulations is required.
• RCRA 40 CFR hazardous waste management knowledge is required.
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Identify problems and recommend corrections for non-compliance.
• Advise management on measures to correct or minimize non-compliant activities.
• Manage environmental permitting and renewal schedules.
• Prepare and maintain environmental plans and procedures.
• Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and management.
• Provide environmental training to staff.
• Act as liaison with regulators and contractors on environmental projects.
• Coordinate facility inspections and environmental audits by customers.
• Respond to incidents and advise operational teams.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to teams.
