Job summary

Gerdau seeks a Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist to lead regulatory compliance efforts at its steel mill operations. You will monitor environmental activities, report deficiencies, and work with management to ensure federal, state, and local compliance across the facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• 15 years of progressive environmental compliance and regulatory experience preferred with leadership potential.
• Experience in industrial regulations, Title V, air permits, RCRA, storm water quality, and reporting.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders on compliance issues.
• Strong organizational and team-building skills.
• Able to manage projects and conduct inspections.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and monitor environmental activities in the mill.
• Provide guidance to management on pollution control, hazardous waste, and regulatory issues.
• Establish long-term environmental solutions aligned with mill operations.
• Train employees on environmental policy and create training tools.
