Job summary

Hussey Copper in Leetsdale, PA, is seeking a Lead Environmental Specialist to lead environmental compliance, wastewater treatment, and waste management in our manufacturing facility. You will work closely with plant leadership to ensure regulatory adherence, drive continuous improvement, train staff, and support sustainable manufacturing practices across operations.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
Minimum of one year of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is required.
Strong commitment to environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with good documentation.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day environmental compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulations.
Oversee wastewater treatment system operation and compliance.
Coordinate maintenance and calibration of wastewater treatment control instrumentation.
Procure wastewater treatment chemicals and environmental supplies.
Coordinate waste handling, disposal, and recycling.
Collect environmental samples and coordinate lab testing.
Prepare discharge monitoring reports and other required documentation.
Coordinate routine maintenance of wastewater treatment equipment.
