Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Environmental & Regulatory Compliance (ERC) Section Manager for the Great Lakes Region in the United States. You will supervise and lead ERC staff, promote safety and environmental stewardship, and drive quality and continuous improvement across projects.

You will provide strategic guidance on compliance programs, coordinate training, and collaborate with business development and project teams on ERC proposals to win new work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, geology, soils, vegetation management, environmental studies, business administration or similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years related ERC project experience; prior staff management preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thoughtfully influence, lead, and manage change.
• History of high performance per Burns & McDonnell performance management system.
• Strong public relations skills with a strategic perspective.

Responsibilities

• Lead ERC staff in the Great Lakes region with supervision, training, and direction.
• Advocate for safety and promote environmental stewardship across projects.
• Drive a culture of quality and continual improvement.
• Develop training programs and collaborate on technical ERC topics (stormwater, Phase I ESAs, SPCC Plans, Tier I/II reporting).
• Collaborate with business development and project teams on ERC proposals to secure work.
• Provide guidance on policies and compliance strategies for environmental projects.
