Job summary

CalPortland is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Shasta Lake, California. This role involves planning and directing environmental compliance efforts, training staff, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across various operations.

Successful candidates will benefit from a competitive benefits package and must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. Compensation ranges from $65k to $85k depending on experience.

Qualifications

• One to three years’ experience in a heavy industrial or mining setting preferred.
• Must be physically able to access all plant areas and equipment to accomplish job function.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance at material operations in assigned region.
• Develop and maintain environmental plans and procedures.
• Provide training on environmental compliance programs.
• Inspect equipment and conditions for compliance.
• Prepare requisitions for outside services and project administration.

Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations

Ability to teach or train effectively

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
