Job summary

UT Austin seeks an Environmental Compliance professional to inspect sites, train staff, and ensure SWPPP, SPCC, and wastewater compliance across campuses. You will coordinate with EHS teams, review designs, and develop corrective actions.

The role involves on-site inspections, regulatory reporting, and collaboration with construction teams to maintain safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, a natural science, industrial hygiene, or related field.
• Class 'C' Driver License required.
• Current three-year driving record from residence.
• If not Texas resident, obtain Texas Driver's License within 30 days of relocation.
• At least 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Strong communication, initiative, problem solving, and service excellence.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
• Security-sensitive position; background and driving record checks.
• Preferred: Master's degree in environmental field.
• Preferred: HAZWOPER training.
• Preferred: SWPPP, SPCC, and TCEQ permit experience.
• May require physical examination.
• Tuberculosis screening and respirator use may be required.
• On-call participation may be required.
• May lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts/equipment.
• Materials: Resume/CV, three references, and letter of interest.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, monitoring, training, and testing of sites for compliance with environmental programs.
• Attend seminars and workshops to maintain environmental knowledge.
• Conduct and present environmental training for staff and students.
• Lead environmental support for construction project teams on regulatory requirements.
• Review design documents for environmental compliance and provide feedback.
• Coordinate environmental services with the environmental programs manager and team.
• Maintain compliance reporting systems and develop corrective actions.
• Document corrective actions and assist with SOPs and guidelines.
