Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an Environmental Intern to support Aggregates and Ready-Mix operations across Western PA. You will gain hands‑on experience assisting environmental compliance, data collection, reporting, and sustainability initiatives.

This hybrid internship combines office work with field visits to quarry and plant facilities, offering collaboration with environmental, operational, safety, and maintenance teams while contributing to emissions reduction and resource

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, and industrial operations.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and ability to collaborate across levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental compliance activities, inspections, audits, and documentation.
• Support data collection, analysis, reporting, and recordkeeping for permits and sustainability initiatives.
• Partner with operations teams to identify opportunities for environmental improvements.
• Participate in site visits and field assessments to monitor performance and support corrective actions.
• Contribute to projects focusing on compliance, resource conservation, or emissions reduction.
