Job summary

New--indy-Containerboard-1 is seeking an Environmental Compliance Engineer to manage environmental permits, audits, and regulatory reporting across its manufacturing facilities. The role supports continuous improvement in environmental performance and coordinates with facility managers and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in heavy manufacturing, strong regulatory knowledge (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, EPCRA), and experience in auditing, KPI tracking, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.
• 3+ years of environmental engineering experience in heavy manufacturing and multi-site programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for facility environmental managers on compliance requirements and corrective actions.
• Evaluate applicability of federal, state, and local air regulations to equipment, processes and operations.
• Maintain permit requirements, renewal schedules, compliance calendars, and reporting deadlines.
