Job summary

Amsted Rail is seeking an Environmental Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental programs at our facility in the United States. You will own day-to-day compliance, inspections, reporting, spill response, and permitting for air, water, stormwater, tanks, and waste management in alignment with federal and Iowa regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering/Sciences or related technical field.
• 3–5 years environmental experience in manufacturing/heavy industry.
• Working knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations (Title V, NPDES, RCRA/Waste).
• Experience with regulatory reporting and data tracking systems.
• Strong written/verbal communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains environmental programs and initiatives for the facility.
• Performs inspections, reporting, permitting, and spill response activities.
• Collects environmental data for reporting and compliance.
• Leads spill response and emergency coordination.
• Delivers employee environmental training and communicates expectations.
• Coaches staff on compliance and environmental footprint reduction.
• Oversees hourly personnel in waste activities and stormwater practices.
• Represents the facility during agency inspections.
• Coordinates remediation project activities.
