Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Manager/Engineer to lead the environmental compliance program at a new chemical facility. You’ll own Title V permitting, NPDES, LDAR, reporting, and regulatory compliance, with exposure to multiple greenfield projects and long-term career growth.

You will oversee process engineering assurance across FEED, detailed design, construction, and start-up, ensuring safe, compliant, and operable designs, while mentoring staff and aligning with company standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering required or preferred.
• 5+ years of environmental engineering experience in industrial, chemical manufacturing.
• Experience with Title V, NPDES, LDAR, industrial pretreatment, and environmental reporting programs.
• Strong analytical skills with mass balance development, emissions calculations, and process modeling.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment systems and pollution control technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop material mass balances for new processes to support emissions inventories and process optimization.
• Lead Title V air permitting activities, including emissions calculations, permit modifications, deviation reporting, and regulatory reviews.
• Manage NPDES wastewater discharge compliance, sampling plans, DMR reporting, and stormwater program oversight.
• Oversee industrial sewer discharge permits and pretreatment compliance with local limits and surcharge programs.
• Serve as primary technical contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and agency communications (EPA, state agencies, POTWs).
• Mentor process engineers and environmental specialists; provide training on environmental regulations and systems.
