Job summary

Philip Morris International is seeking an Environmental Specialist for Owensboro, KY. The role supports air, water, waste compliance, inspections, and documentation. You’ll coordinate hazardous waste shipments, assist incident investigations, and help with management systems and initiatives across PMI’s U.S.

operations. You will work with teams to implement environmental programs, analyze data, and provide training on policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Environmental or safety certifications are preferred.
• 1-3 years of environmental experience is preferred.
• Experience with environmental reporting and compliance programs is a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance programs related to air, water, waste and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with environmental inspections and audits.
• Coordinate hazardous waste shipments and related documentation.
• Support environmental goals, programs and management systems.
• Assist investigations of environmental incidents and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance and training on environmental policies and best practices.
• Partner with employees, leaders and external vendors to implement environmental initiatives.
• Maintain environmental records, reports and compliance documentation.
• Support risk assessments and environmental improvement projects.
• Stay current on environmental regulations and industry practices.
• Provide occasional weekend air monitoring and off-shift support as needed.
