Job summary

MPD, Inc. in Owensboro, KY is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to design, implement, and manage programs preventing illness, injury, and environmental damage.

You will train staff on safety policies, conduct inspections, and prepare health and safety assessment reports in line with OSHA and EPA regulations. The position offers the opportunity to lead safety initiatives, maintain OSHA logs, coordinate permits, and drive continuous improvement across the plant with a strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, safety management, or similar.
• Ten+ years of safety-related experience.
• OSHA or similar EHS certification.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Develop, implement and manage safety programs and training.
• Lead emergency response planning and drills.
• Inspect facilities and implement corrective actions for hazards.
• Investigate accidents and prepare reports.
• Maintain OSHA 300/300A logs and permits.
• Coordinate environmental permits and reporting.
• Establish a plant safety committee.
• Analyze pollution levels as needed.
