Job summary

ADM is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join the Decatur, IL site. You will support the Environmental Manager across cogeneration, wastewater treatment, and water treatment operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities include monitoring site activities, training staff, preparing reports, participating in audits, and maintaining the EMS. You should have strong problem-solving and communication skills, with 2+ years in process industries.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Environmental Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of progressive responsibility in industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (air, water, waste) and permitting.
• Proven leadership, communication, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Support Environmental Manager with monitoring site activities for regulatory compliance.
• Assist training of employees and contractors on environmental programs.
• Prepare required reports and maintain records for environmental programs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and apply new requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits and track corrective actions.
• Support EMS policy development and incident investigations.
