Job summary

The Chemist II position in Tallahassee is part of the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration’s Chemistry Program, Nutrients section. You will analyze environmental samples for nutrients and related compounds to support water quality assessments and restoration projects for the State of Florida.

The role requires five years of related experience, ability to work 9 am–6 pm, and the capacity to handle laboratory duties with accuracy, while adhering to rules and procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of terminology, principles and techniques of chemical research, analysis or testing.
• Skill in the use of laboratory equipment and materials.
• Ability to perform all calculations and assessments necessary to report data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze environmental samples for nutrients, inorganic anions, and related compounds.
• Assist in assessment of water quality and restoration projects for the State of Florida.
• Maintain accurate records and follow technical instructions related to laboratory testing.
