Job summary

The Department of Environmental Protection in Augusta seeks a Chemist I to provide technical input in environmental chemistry and geochemistry. You will review analytical data, assist with QA processes, and input data into EGAD, collaborating with staff across programs.

A four-year chemistry-related degree and laboratory/data analysis skills are preferred, with eligibility for detailed program reviews and data interpretation responsibilities. This is a full-time, year-round position in Augusta.

Qualifications

• Four-year combination of education, training, and/or experience in chemistry or a related field.
• Preference for laboratory experience and ability to review analytical data reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input in environmental chemistry/geochemistry to programs, staff, and laboratories.
• Review analytical laboratory data reports, license proposals, and QA plans.
• Assist with data quality control and input into EGAD, collaborating across the department.
