Job summary

Action Environmental seeks a CDL Operator to safely operate commercial motor vehicles and specialized cleaning equipment at customer facilities in Birmingham, AL. The role requires a valid CDL and the ability to operate vacuum trucks, hydroblasting and other heavy equipment, while upholding safety, quality and customer service.

You’ll travel as needed, work overtime, and perform physically demanding tasks in industrial environments such as refineries and plants.

Qualifications

Valid Class A or Class B CDL with acceptable driving record.
Must meet DOT physical qualification requirements.
Ability to pass DOT drug screening.
Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
Ability to travel, including overnight travel.
Overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

Safely operate Class A or B commercial vehicles per DOT and company policy.
Transport equipment, tools, and materials to and from customer sites.
Operate vacuum trucks, hydroblasting equipment and related heavy equipment.
Perform industrial cleaning tasks such as tank cleaning, line flushing, and spill response.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required logs and DVIRs.
Wear PPE and follow OSHA, EPA, DOT safety regulations.
Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and cleanup.
Respond to emergency projects, including nights and weekends.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers.
