Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo is accepting applications for associate attorneys with 3-5 years of experience and with 6-10 years of experience practicing land use and environmental law in California. The Firm hires associates with exceptional academic and employment records and a commitment to a high quality law practice representing labor unions, workers, environmental, consumer and community groups and the public interest.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Substantive experience practicing land use, planning and zoning, and environmental law in California.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, including in designing and implementing advocacy that consistently obtains high-quality results.
• Demonstrated interest in sustainable development which minimizes public health and environmental harm while maximizing community benefits.
• Excellent legal research, analytic and writing skills.
• Outstanding and persuasive written or oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel, as needed, to represent clients at public hearings.
• Ability to work effectively with technical experts, including with respect to new technologies and emerging climate and health threats.
• Ability to work collegially and collaboratively and contribute to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture.
• California Bar membership.

The anticipated base salary range for an associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience is $130,000 to $155,000 and with 6-10 years of experience is $155,000 to $190,000, plus annual performance-based bonuses. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.
