Middlebury College invites applications for an Instructor of Environmental Art/Media/Communications with the Middlebury School of the Environment, based in Monterey, California, for a six‑week summer program in sustainability and leadership for undergraduates.

The instructor will teach a hands‑on course in environmental art, media or communications, co‑teach Environmental Analysis, scout field sites, and help develop orientation and leadership trainings; lodging is provided, and the schedule

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in environmental art, media, communications or related field.
• Significant college teaching experience, preferably with experiential learning.
• Knowledge of Monterey, CA environmental resources helpful.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach one class in environmental art, media or communications.
• Co-teach one class titled Environmental Analysis.
• Attend faculty meetings as requested.
• Scout field sites for course labs and experiential opportunities.
• Assist in development of program orientation and leadership trainings.
• Attend school events throughout the program duration.
