Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years environmental experience in heavy industry, mining, or similar operations.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Experience with Michigan wetlands permitting (Part 303), wetlands delineation, or mitigation banking is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Environmental Area Manager – Michigan Water Resources Permitting

Carmeuse is seeking an experienced Environmental Area Manager to lead environmental compliance and permitting efforts across operations in Michigan. This role will serve as the primary internal resource for Michigan Water Resources Permits (Part 301), while supporting environmental programs related to air, land, and water compliance. The successful candidate will partner with operations, engineering, regulatory agencies, and consultants to ensure compliance, manage environmental reporting, oversee permitting activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position offers a flexible Michigan-based location (Gulliver, Cedarville, Drummond Island, Rogers City, or Lansing).

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of environmental experience in heavy industry, mining, or similar operations
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements
  • Experience with Michigan wetlands permitting (Part 303), wetland delineation, or mitigation banking is a plus
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
