Job summary

Onterris in Wilmington, NC is hiring an Analyst I or II to support environmental testing in our lab. You will analyze environmental samples, troubleshoot instruments, and prepare data for client reports as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a BA/BS in Chemistry or Natural Science and 2–4 years of environmental analytical chemistry experience; familiarity with LCMS/MS and GCMS is a plus. Training on first shift with potential move to second shift.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent) required.
  • 2–4 years of environmental analytical chemistry experience.
  • Experience with instrument software or commercial laboratories is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze environmental samples utilizing LCMSMS and GCMS
  • Troubleshoot instrument issues and perform routine maintenance
  • Process data in accordance with SOPs for client reports
  • Proficient with office software and learn required software
  • Aid in development and optimization of analytical methods
  • Maintain and update knowledge of instrumentation
  • Readily adapt to change and handle other essential tasks
  • Comply with laboratory quality assurance and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

A Day in the Life

As an Analyst I or II in our Wilmington, NC lab, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $22.00 to $27.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule: This position will train on 1st shift hours. Once training is complete this position will move to 2nd shift.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze environmental samples utilizing LCMSMS and GCMS
  • Troubleshoot instrument issues and perform routine maintenance
  • Process data in accordance with SOPs for inclusion in client reports
  • Proficient with office software and ability to learn required operational/quantification software
  • Aid in development and optimization of analytical methods
  • Maintain and update knowledge of relevant instrumentation
  • Readily adapt to change in a positive manner and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Comply with laboratory quality assurance plan and other policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Your Expertise And Skills

  • BA / BS Degree in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent training)
  • 2-4 years’ experience in an environmental analytical chemistry; Instrument software or commercial laboratory experience is an asset
