Job summary

Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ seeks a Per Diem Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Hours are 3:30PM - 11:30PM, including every other weekend and on-call. Starting rate is $21.21 per hour.

Eligible for Atlantic Health System teen hiring initiatives with specific shifts. Responsibilities include general cleaning, trash, dusting, floor care, patient room sanitation, linen replacement, and safe handling of bodily fluids.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history required.
• Must meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older (working papers if under 18).

Responsibilities

• General cleaning, trash disposal, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing in patient rooms and common areas.
• Assist in linen handling and delivery to patient areas.
• Handle cleaning of bodily fluids according to safety protocols.

Description Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Environmental AideI (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours are:3:30PM - 11:30PM,including every other weekend and on-call. Starting rate$21.21/hr. This position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative(specific shifts)

Essential Function/Responsibilities

• General cleaning, empty trash, high/low dusting, mop floors, sanitize allfurniture inpatient rooms, clean commode, clean bathrooms and discard debris,remove soiled linen and replace with fresh linen in patient rooms.
• EVS Aide will also need to work at Union Campus.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year ofemployment.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidatesmust be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA300 CombinedCertification Form/Working Papers).
• If 16 or 17 years-old, valid working papers required.

Relevant Experience

• Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutionalsetting or a related field preferred.
• Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality orrelevant area preferred.
